These efforts have been a model for other states and been recognized by AIA National as best Practices. As a result of Steve's legislative work, the Chapter has been awarded 3 separate Grassroots Excellence awards. He has been a relentless protector of the profession, successfully leading the charge toreduce the statute of repose for architects, repeal the "Joint and Several Liability" laws, defeat the sales tax on professional services in Florida, and defeat efforts by Interior Designers to sign and seal permit documents.
